Overview

MAXICULTURE was a European project aimed at strengthening the impact of digital culture initiatives by improving how their social, economic, and cultural value is understood and measured. It addressed a key challenge in the cultural and creative sectors: the lack of shared methods and evidence for assessing the outcomes of digital cultural projects.

The project brought together cultural organisations, researchers, policymakers, and technology providers to develop evaluation frameworks, indicators, and practical tools that support informed decision-making. Through research, case studies, and collaborative analysis, MAXICULTURE helped stakeholders identify best practices and design more sustainable and impactful digital culture strategies.

A central element of the project was the creation of a Community of Practice, which enabled knowledge exchange across disciplines and sectors. This collaborative approach fostered shared learning, strengthened cross-sector dialogue, and supported the wider adoption of evidence-based approaches to digital innovation in culture.

Within the MAXICULTURE project, IN2 played a key role in establishing and supporting a Community of Practice that connected cultural heritage professionals, researchers, technology providers, and policymakers working in the digital culture domain.

IN2 contributed its expertise in building collaborative knowledge-sharing environments, aggregating digital culture conferences and events, enabling stakeholders to meet, exchange experiences, methodologies, and lessons learned around the impact, sustainability, and evaluation of digital cultural initiatives.

By bringing strong domain knowledge of the cultural sector into the project, IN2 helped ensure that discussions, tools, and outcomes were grounded in real cultural practices and needs, strengthening cross-sector dialogue and supporting more informed, evidence-based approaches to digital culture innovation.

Alongside IN2, the following organisations formed the consortium:

  • Eurokleis Srl, Italy (Coordinator)
  • T6 Ecosystems Srl, Italy
  • Vandejong BV, The Netherlands
