Meet us at Immersive Heritage 2026

Taking place in Timisoara, Romania, from the 18th to the 20th of March, the conference Immersive Heritage 2026 is positioned as a meeting point for experts working at the intersection of digital cultural heritage and immersive technologies, with a programme spanning keynote sessions, workshops, demonstrations, exhibitions, policy dialogue, and scientific exchange.

Our participation at the event is building upon the work that IN2 is carrying out in the context of the common European data space for cultural heritage (through projects 3DBigDataSpace and XRculture) and in the Cultural Heritage Cloud (in the UNICHE project), as well as more generally towards capacity building for cultural heritage institutions to work with 3D (through the 3D-4CH online competence center) and to plan, assess and narrate the impact that they achieve through their activities (DataConversations).

We will contribute to the programme during Day 1 which is focusing on “Immersive Technologies for Cultural Heritage Preservation”. IN2’s projects will be introduced to the audience during the morning workshop session. During lunch the participants can meet the IN2 team at the exhibition “Guided Tour of the XR Heritage Experience”, where we will present the latest results from the projects. In the afternoon we will take part in the panel discussion “Digital Museums: Bridging Physical and Digital Heritage”, bringing the viewpoint from our previous work in the 5Dculture project, where several aspects of physical and digital museums experiences were deployed, as well as the latest piloting plans of the UNICHE project.

Day 2 of the event is focused on “Serious games, Engagement & Cultural Storytelling”. We are keen here to be part of the Panel “Designing Interactive Heritage Experiences”, as over the years we created innovative showcases using the WEAVEx digital storytelling platform, such as innovative cultural tourism experiences that leverage hologram postcards, mixed reality experiences for dispersed heritage, and even educational gamified experiences for youth using digitised 3D museum objects.

We look forward to seeing IN2 represented at Immersive Heritage 2026 and to the conversations, collaborations, and ideas that will emerge from the event in Timișoara.
